Skincare FAQ

Why Do I Need Skincare?

People need skincare because the skin is the body's largest organ and serves as the primary barrier against environmental elements.

Under Construction More faq to come

Skincare provides protection for the skin, to help protect against the sun's UV rays and all the different weather conditions

Having a consistent skincare routine helps to support the natural barrier that the skin provides, providing moisture back into the skin, to help prevent irritation

Why Should I Use Natural Skincare?

To prioritize natural and pure ingredients that work in harmony with your body

Harsh Chemicals are found, a lot of the times, in synthetic skincare, for example parabens and sulfates, which can cause irritation or change how your skin reacts to some other ingredients (sensitiviy in the skin)

Natural ingredients typically have a lot of nutrients in them, like essential oils that help nourish the skin, and vitamins and antioxidants and your body recognizes the herbs, which allows for better absorption by the body.

Natural skincare leaves less of a footprint than synthetic skincare.  It is eco-friendly, as the ingredients are sourced from sustainably and does not hurt the environment when there is waste

Are Natural Skincare Product as effective

Yes, and often more compatible with your skin. While lab-made (synthetic) products often use isolated chemicals to achieve a specific result, natural skincare utilizes the whole plant, which contains a complex profile of vitamins, antioxidants, and fatty acids.

Biocompatibility: The body often recognizes plant-based "herbs" and oils more easily than synthetic compounds. This allows for better absorption and more efficient use of nutrients by the skin.

Active Ingredients: Many powerful "lab" ingredients actually originate in nature. For example, Vitamin C from Kakadu plums or Retinol alternatives like Bakuchiol provide similar results to synthetic versions without the harsh side effects or irritation.

Long-Term Health: Synthetic products can offer a "quick fix" but may disrupt the skin's natural barrier over time with sulfates and parabens. Natural ingredients work in harmony with your body to build skin health from the inside out.

Sustainability: Effectiveness isn't just about the face—it's about the footprint. Natural skincare is eco-friendly, meaning it is as good for the planet as it is for your complexion.

Are All Natural Ingredients Safe

Simple answer:  No

Reasons Why:

1. Potency and Sensitivity

Many natural substances are highly concentrated. For example, essential oils are incredibly powerful; if applied directly to the skin without a carrier oil, they can cause chemical burns or severe irritation. Even common ingredients like lemon juice or cinnamon can be too acidic or abrasive for sensitive skin.

2. Individual Allergies

Just as some people are allergic to peanuts or strawberries, your skin can have an adverse reaction to botanical extracts. Common natural allergens include:

  • Lavender

  • Tea Tree Oil

  • Latex (found in some plant milks)

  • Ragweed-family plants (like chamomile or calendula)

3. Toxicity in Nature

Nature produces some of the most toxic substances known to man. For instance, poison ivy is "natural," but you certainly wouldn't want it in your face cream! Safety depends entirely on the type of plant, the part of the plant used, and how it is processed.

4. Stability and Preservation

Synthetic skincare often uses preservatives to prevent mold and bacteria growth. Truly natural products require very careful formulation and specific natural preservatives (like Vitamin E or certain essential oils) to ensure they don't spoil and cause skin infections.
